三、教學目標 Objectives
政治社會學廣泛被構想是研究社會關係中的權力與支配。在十九世紀，政治學與社會學開始發展為獨立學科，在邊際[效用]學派經濟學的影響下試著去劃分「政治性」、「社會性」與「經濟性」的研究。政治學變成專注於分析政府機器、公共行政機制，與治理理論。社會學對它的主題事務採取更廣泛的定義。韋伯為現代社會學提供理論基礎，將社會學界定為對社會行動之詮釋性理解，且對行動的過程及後果連結上一種因果性解釋。
Political sociology broadly conceived is the study of power and domination in social relationships. Political science and sociology began to develop as independent disciplines in the nineteenth century under the influence of marginalist economics which attempted to demarcate the study of the ‘political’ from that of the ‘social’ and the ‘economic’. Political science became focused on the analysis of the machinery of government, the mechanisms of public administration and theories of governance. Sociology adopted a much broader definition of its subject matter. Max Weber provided the theoretical underpinning for modern sociology defined as the interpretative understanding of social action linked to a causal explanation of its course and consequences.
